Friend Family Health Center is hiring for the following positions:


Medical Director

Overall responsibility for medical operations of the health center.  Directly supervises the Physicians and Nurse Practitioners.

Minimum Knowlege, Skills and Abilities Required:

Education: 

  • Board certified.

Esential Job Functions:

  • Establish and assume maintenance of professional standards in all Center medical departments including oversight of center wide medical protocols
  • Evaluate and monitor quality of patient care services including co-chairing the Center’s Continuous Quality Improvement Committee
  • Oversees all onsite medical, academic, teaching and training practices
  • Oversees all health provider training programs in conjunction with the Human Resources department
  • Oversees all provider clinical educational and licensure requirements in conjunction with the Human Resources Department
  • In collaboration with Chief Executive Officer, plan, develop and implement programs to assure responsiveness to patients and community health needs.
  • Oversee activities related to recruitment and retention of physicians in conjunction with Human Resources department
  • Represent the Center on medical/clinical issues with external agencies and organizations as required by CEO
  • Provide direct patient care in appropriate clinical unit as directed
  • Assist with grant development and program evaluation as required by CEO
  • Oversees the collection of medical data in collaboration with the Provider Service manager to ensure proper documentation and maximization of revenue
  • Oversees providers’ schedule to ensure adequate provider coverage to accommodate demands for medical services and maximum utilization of exam rooms
  • Oversees and manages providers’ productivity in conjunction with the Director of Nursing and Director of Operations
  • Implements the Center’s Health Care Plan to ensure reduction in targeted community health disparities
  • Oversees and manages Medical Collaborations and medical linkage agreements
  • Completes special projects on a regular basis or assigned
  •  


Registered Nurse

Responsibilities include providing nursing care to patients in an outpatient setting. Accepts charge nurse responsibilities, directing patient flow, coordinating admissions to unit, and assigning staff appropriately. Oversees the Medical Assistant personnel, and delegate assignments.  Has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocol relating to the physical and psychological needs of the pediatric, internal medicine, OB/GYN and adolescent patient.

Requirements:

  • BS or Associates Degree in Nursing
  • Requires satisfactory completion of an accredited registered nurse program.
  • Requires effective communication skills.
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years experience as a registered nurse with direct patient care.
  • Requires current CPR certification.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) required.


Staff Accountant

This position is responsible for the monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts, investigation and resolution of problems detected through the reconciliation process, and the preparation of journal entries following established accounting policies and procedures.  This individual will also be responsible for the payroll and Accounts Receivables process.

Requirements:

  • BS Accounting.
  • 3-5 years experience in an Accounting position.
  • 3 years as a Staff Accountant
  • Strong Analytical Ability
  • Must have strong PC skills
  • Efficiency in use of calculator required.


Medical Assistant
Under general supervision, assist the provider in the examination, treatment, and care of patients in the assigned clinical area. All applicants must be certified with a minimum 2 years of medical assistant experience. Medical Assistants must have excellent customer service skills, because they will have constant interaction with patients, providers and other members of the clinical staff.

Requirements:v

  • EKG
  • Audiometers
  • Venipuncture
  • Able to perform dipstick urinalysis, pregnancy test, blood glucose test
  • Must be able to obtain and record vital signs, blood pressure, weight, height, pulse, temperature and or respiration.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.


Clinic Coordinator
Clinic coordinators perform reception and clerical duties of considerable difficulty in an outpatient clinic setting. The job involves extensive utilization of clinic systems and constant interaction with patients, physicians, and other members of the clinic staff.  Clinic coordinators need to possess both a strong customer service orientation and a commitment to excellence and accuracy while working in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.

Requirements:

  • AA degree preferred, or some college work required.
  • Completion of Medical Terminology class and/or Medical Receptionist program.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a reception/customer service setting.
  • Ability to type 35 wpm


Family Medicine Physician
Physician responsibilities include diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and other disorders in an outpatient setting.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy
  • Current license to practice medicine in the United States
  • Board certified
  • License to practice medicine in the State of Illinois
  • 5 years clinical experience
  • 2 years administrative experience in a clinical setting
  • Experience in community based health care setting and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
