Director of Resource Development/External Affairs
Barbara K. Williams joined Friend Family Health Center in 2011 and has served as Director of Grants/Compliance and Director of Operations/Development. She became Director of Resource Development/External Affairs in November of 2013. In this position, Ms. Williams is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the organization in all areas related to resource acquisition, managed care contracting and network development, grant and contract reporting, as well as community and government relations.
She has over 20 years of clinical and administrative management experience in the healthcare industry. Having served in various leadership positions from Corporate Compliance Officer to Executive Director in community health centers make her well versed in all aspects of the day-to-day operations and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Health Center Program requirements.
Ms. Williams earned a doctoral degree in Human Services with a specialization in Health Care Administration from Capella University in May 2015. She holds a Master’s degree in Operations Management with a certification in Business Management from the University of Arkansas and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management from Southern Illinois University.
In May 2014, she was certified by the American Board of Managed Care Nursing as a Certified Managed Care Nurse. She also has served as an active Grant Reviewer for HRSA since 2009 and is regularly invited to participate as an objective review committee member for the review of grant applications.
